Give Dad a weekend away from the grill and bring him to MKT BAR instead. Our weekend brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-3PM and is sure to satisfy his manly appetite. He won’t be able to resist classic favorites like Hill Country Fried Chicken & Waffles, Black Pepper Waffle with braised lamb & shaved Pecorino Romano, or Piperade with Eggs. Pair any dish with our hearty sidekicks and a MKT Cocktail or share some slices of an artisan pizza. Jazz up his special day even more with a live performance from Boodah and His Painted Band on Sunday, June 15th, from noon-3PM. See the menu and we’ll look forward to seeing you and Dad here.
Celebrate Earth Day! Join us in showing love for our city’s green spaces by helping us donate to Houston’s Give 5% campaign. Shop at either of our market locations or dine with us at MKT BAR or Arpi’s Phoenicia Deli on Saturday, April 26th to contribute to the cause. We’ll be donating 5% of our gross revenue that day to our favorite Houston-area conservancies who are collaborating to make the Houston area a better place.
This special is practically a steal! Show your game-day ticket stub or wear your Astros jersey on home game days to take advantage of our MKT Triple Play:
* $3 off sliders
* $3 off MKT queso * $3 domestic beers
Swing by for a short stop or stay for extra innings!
Be among the first to experience “SlideShow,” a group exhibition featuring the works of University of Houston student and alumni photographers, Jeff Bradley, Andre Brooks, Alyssa Brown, Brenda Cruz, Richard Custer, Brenda Franco, Donna Fernandez, Os Galindo, Laura Grievencamp, Tina Hernandez, Adrienne Meyers, Kahiah Polidore, Alexis Scott, Alyssa Stephens, Alonso Tapia and Kate Washmon.
ABOUT THE ART:
Each artist, through a variety of mediums (digital, film, transfers, digital collage, and mixed media), provides a visual commentary on cultural portrait studies, landscapes, still-lifes, and surreal imagery.
Much of the work included uses the city of Houston as the backdrop for its imagery, and the artists, although diverse in approach, illustrate the type of work being made from artists who all started in a similar place, the University of Houston.
OPENING RECEPTION: Meet the artists on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 6-9PM
EXHIBITION: Through May 3, 2014
COST: Free admission. Food, drinks and all artwork will be available for purchase.

Rebecca J. Hopp’s mixed media photography explores her experience with agriculture and the source of our food. She recalls farming through her camera, conversation, and physical assembly. The objects she creates transcend the individual photograph and allude to her source, her past, and the past of farmers with which she interacts.
